Aray Daulay was born in Bandung, Indonesia and has been playing music professionally since the age of 19. Aray has been involved in four major projects during his career – beginning with the rock n roll band 'Plastik' in 1995. 'Steven and Coconut Trees' reggae band was formed in 2004 and played both internationally and nationally during the 5 years of playing together. Focusing on more chilled out acoustic music Aray had been writing over the years, folk project Ray D’Sky launched into the Indonesian music scene in 2009. Continuing with this project, Aray and former Plastik members re-grouped to compose music that set off his music career in the beginning - rock n roll – and 'Daddy and the Hot Tea' was born in 2013.
The ‘Aray Daulay’ project has been created to bridge all previous band styles and allow Aray to freely express all musical inclinations without feeling confined to just one genre.
